Novus Construction was appointed to refurbish a four-bedroom apartment within a Victorian mansion block in Westminster. The apartment had not been updated for many years and required a full strip-out, service upgrades, replastering, new bathrooms, flooring, joinery and final decoration.
The existing plaster was in poor condition, so large areas were stripped back and replastered before the finishing works began. The refurbishment included a full electrical rewire, new plumbing, three bathrooms, herringbone oak flooring, sash window restoration, fitted wardrobes, kitchen works and full decoration.
Access and logistics were also important. Materials and waste were managed carefully within the building, with scaffold and hoist access used where required to reduce disruption to the communal areas.
The reception rooms were refurbished with new services, replastered walls, restored sash windows, retained period plasterwork and herringbone oak flooring. The aim was to upgrade the apartment while keeping the character of the mansion block setting.
The bedrooms were replastered, rewired, redecorated and finished with new flooring or carpet. Fitted wardrobes and storage joinery were installed where required, with existing fireplaces and period details retained where suitable.
Three bathrooms were stripped and rebuilt with new plumbing, waterproofing, tiling, sanitaryware, fixtures and finishes. Electrical and plumbing works were coordinated with the wider refurbishment and completed by competent trades.
The result was a fully refurbished Westminster apartment with upgraded services, replastered rooms, restored period features, completed bathrooms, new flooring and fitted joinery, all brought together with final decoration, snagging and a clear handover.
